My Troublesome Star, also known as My Precious Star in earlier reports, confirms the long-awaited on-screen reunion of Uhm Jung‑hwa and Song Seung‑heon, ten years after their film Wonderful Nightmare (2015)
Uhm Jung‑hwa stars as Bong Cheong‑ja, a former top celebrity who mysteriously loses 25 years of memory. She awakens believing she’s still Im Se‑ra, Korea’s legendary actress who vanished decades ago.
Song Seung‑heon plays Dokgo Chul, a former detective demoted to traffic duty. He becomes Bong Cheong‑ja’s undercover manager, initially skeptical but eventually supportive as he navigates her claim of lost identity.
Supporting cast includes Lee El and Oh Dae‑hwan—portraying the rising star who inherited Im Se‑ra’s position, and her former manager-turned-CEO respectively
Directed by Choi Young‑hoon (Good Casting), written by Park Ji‑ha (Day and Night). A teaser video released in July introduces a narrative mixing heartfelt emotion with humor as Bong Cheong‑ja struggles with identity and fame after waking up mid‑life
Premieres August 18, 2025 at 10 PM KST on ENA—also available immediately on KT Genie TV as free VOD following each broadcast
Song Seung‑heon shared:
“When I first read the script, it gave me a new and refreshing feeling… the touching emotions amidst laughs and real stories that transcend eras captivated me.”
He described Dokgo Chul as perceptive, bold, and human, expressing excitement to portray a fresh side of himself in this light-hearted romance.
This pairing brings together themes of memory, second chances, and identity—with their decade‑spanning chemistry promising maturity, warmth, and charm.
