Top 10 Famous KOREAN ACTORS Who Died Too Young

This year, the Korean industry lost precious souls who were shaping the world of Kdrama and Kpop. While they were swooning us with their heartfelt performances, the world was too unkind. Behind those smiles and amazing performances, our favorite stars were struggling mentally. Let’s honor the loss of our favorite stars because they truly deserve to be remembered.

First up on the list, we have the tragic case of, 

Kim Sae Ron

On 16th February, the entire South Korea shook to the core, when Sae Ron passed away tragically, at the age of 24. When police further investigated thoroughly, the revelations that came along showed the ugly side of the Korean Industry. It was reported that the Queen of Tears, actor Kim Soo Hyun, dated the late actress when she was only a minor, 15 years old. According to the Garo Saro Research Institute and a close relative of Sae Ron, including her parents, they revealed evidence that indicated that Soo Hyun pursued Sae Ron when she was young and even wanted to initiate physical intimacy. With all these, Kim Soo Hyun tried to make amends and held a press conference, where Soo Hyun stated that they did date, but it was only when Kim Sae Ron was an adult. While these cases are going on, GoldMedalist and Soo Hyun still haven’t clarified anything yet. Sae Ron’s passing was tragic because ever since her DUI ( driving under the influence) incident, her career has been ruined. When she was trying to make a comeback this year, the world was unfair. Rest in peace, Kim Sae Ron.

Song Jae Rim

On November 12th, everyone’s heart broke to the core because one of the most bubbly and talented actors, Song Jae Rim, decided to end the ongoing battles in his life silently. He was known for his roles in dramas such as Moon Embracing The Sun and others. When the police did the investigation, they found Nicotine traces and a two-page letter, where he poured down everything he was going through, starting from the pressure of the industry and the harassment of an obsessive fan. Everything was weighing him down. His closest friends were devastated by this. In fact, his lifeless body was discovered by one of his best friends. Jae Rim was only 39. 

Then we have the case of, 

Park Bo Ram

Bo Ram was one of the talented singers in the Korean industry. She even covered an entire OST for the hit drama, Reply 1988. Her lifeless body was found when she was having a fun time with her friends, but alcohol was to be blamed because her body’s internal system could not take it anymore. Bo Ram was 30 years old. Truly, a gem singer has been lost. Rest in peace. 

Upon the list, we have the tragic loss of someone, 

Lee Sun Kyun

The award-winning Parasite actor Lee Sun Kyun’s loss will be something that can never be replaced. Sun Kyun was embroiled in a scandal that ruined his career, the one he tried hard to build from scratch, and he watched it crumble right in front of his eyes. He was charged with a drug scandal, which he was not even involved in. The way the media and everyone were handling his case truly broke him emotionally. On December 27th, he was gone just like that,t only at the age of 48.

Next up, we have, 

Jung Chae Yul 

Chae Yul was a beautiful rising model, but was also working in K-dramas. She appeared in Zombie Detective, Deep, and others. Now, on 11th April, only at the fragile age of 23, she left the world, and her body was found in her apartment. Before leaving this world, she was supposed to cast on Wedding Impossible, but that couldn’t happen. Rest in peace. 

Let’s not forget about, 

Shin Hae Ri 

Hae Ri worked as a model but sadly passed away at the age of 32. The cause of her passing away still remains unknown, and it is sad that a young soul left so soon when she had the potential to do so much. 

We can’t forget about our, 

Moonbin

ASTRO’s Moonbin, a name that is deeply embedded in our hearts. On 19th April, at the tender age of 25, he left this world. His agency, Fantagio, never revealed the exact cause of his passing, but many believe that Moonbin was struggling mentally and physically. The day he was not responding to anyone, including his manager, he checked in only to find Moonbin’s lifeless body in his apartment. Many were heartbroken, especially Cha Eun Woo. They were the closet. 

Next up, we have, 

Haesoo

Haesoo was only 29 when she left the world. She was a talented singer, and when police reached her residence, the cause of her demise truly broke the hearts of many. The police found a letter in which Haesoo expressed all her pain and did not blame anyone for the decision she took. This gave a huge reminder to everyone once again that the South Korean industry needs to pay more attention to its artists' mental health. 

Then we have the case of, 

Park Soo Ryun 

On June 11th, at the age of 29, the beautiful and young actress Park Soo Ryun left our side, which was heartbreaking. The cause of her passing was painful. While returning home from work in Jeju Island, she experienced a fatal fall while going down the stairs. By the time she was rushed to the hospital, it was too late. Rest in peace, Soo Ryun. She even appeared in various musicals such as The Days We Loved and others. 

Next up, we have, 

Kim Jong Suk

Kim Jong Suk's death sparked rumors of suicide and abuse. His sister denied these claims. She stated that Kim faced financial struggles due to a scam. She clarified the incident with his girlfriend, stating it was a simple argument. A friend broke a soju bottle to stop the argument. She will share audio recordings and texts to prove her statements.

Then we have the sad case of, 

Kim Jong Hyun 

SHINEE, member Kim Jong Hyun. The way he passed away and decided to end it all truly broke the hearts of many. Jong Hyun was only 27. This shows the dark side of the Korean Industry and what the lack of mental health care could do to a person. 

And at last, we have the heartbreaking and controversial case of, 

Sulli

Suli was only 25 years old when she decided to end her life. The cyberbullying, mental health condition, and the immense pressure from the industry caused it all. Now, recently, a shocking revelation came out, Sulli’s brother, Choi Da Hee,  accused Kim Soo Hyun of forcing Sulli to do the intimate scenes in his 2017 movie, Real. Soo Hyun’s agency denied those allegations, so it is hard to tell what really happened.
