Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu, renowned for her role in the 2001 television drama "Meteor Garden," has passed away at the age of 48. She died on February 2, 2025, in Tokyo, Japan, due to pneumonia caused by influenza complications.

Hsu had traveled to Japan with her family during the Lunar New Year holiday when she contracted the flu, which progressed to pneumonia. Her sister, Dee Hsu, confirmed the news, expressing deep sorrow and gratitude for their time together.

Barbie Hsu first gained fame as a member of the pop group S.O.S alongside her sister before achieving widespread recognition with "Meteor Garden." She is survived by her husband, Korean rapper Koo Jun-yup (DJ Koo), and two children.
