Girls’ Generation’s Lim YoonA is taking on a mouthwatering new challenge in the upcoming fantasy historical drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, set to premiere later this year. This highly anticipated series marks YoonA’s return to the small screen with a character that blends elegance, wit, and culinary brilliance.

In Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, YoonA plays Han Yeo Jin, a world-renowned French-trained chef who runs a Michelin-starred restaurant in Seoul. After a strange lunar eclipse, she suddenly finds herself transported to the Joseon dynasty. With no way to return to her time, she adapts her modern skills to the royal kitchen, dazzling the palace with dishes that blend French cuisine and traditional Korean flavors.

As she navigates palace politics, rigid class systems, and ancient customs, Yeo Jin quickly rises to fame within the royal court. However, she also finds herself at odds with the stoic and brilliant royal advisor Kang Tae Hyun, played by rising actor Lee Jae Wook. Their initial conflict eventually sparks into unexpected romance, adding emotional depth to the culinary and historical layers of the story.

Directed by Mr. Queen PD Yoon Sung-sik and written by screenwriter Kim Eun-hee (Signal, Kingdom), the drama promises an engaging balance between fantasy, food, and heart-fluttering moments. The series is also packed with supporting characters like mischievous palace maids, strict eunuchs, and a kind-hearted crown prince who secretly supports Yeo Jin’s modern ideas.

What sets Bon Appétit, Your Majesty apart is its delicious twist—YoonA's character doesn’t just try to survive in Joseon; she revolutionizes how food is prepared and served in the palace, introducing techniques the era has never seen. This offers a unique backdrop for showcasing culture, identity, and womanhood in both time periods.

YoonA, known for her captivating performances in Big Mouth and King the Land, expressed her excitement about the role:

“This character is bold and passionate, and I loved that she brings a different kind of energy to the Joseon era. The historical setting combined with cooking made the script irresistible.”

The drama has already wrapped most of its filming and is currently in post-production. With its star-studded cast, high production values, and genre-blending concept, Bon Appétit, Your Majesty is already generating buzz as one of the most innovative K-dramas of 2025.

Fans of fusion dramas, time travel stories, and YoonA’s versatile acting will not want to miss this one. The premiere is slated for November 2025 on tvN and streaming globally via Netflix.
