The concept for 'Three Meals in Kenya' originated during NJTTW Season 7 in 2019, when Kyuhyun won a game and selected a "Kenya giraffe hotel stay" as his reward, promising a future trip with Lee Soo-geun and Eun Ji-won. However, the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the production indefinitely.

Recent reports confirm that the trio has departed for Kenya to commence filming. This development also dispels previous rumors of discord between Lee Soo-geun and producer Na Young-seok, as they collaborate once again on this project.
