MONSTA X's Kihyun leaves for his mandatory service today

MONSTA X's Kihyun has joined his mandatory military service from 22 August 2023. He has joined as an active duty soldier.

As we all know that according to the constitution of South Korea every citizen must do their military service for 18 to 21 months. So every k-pop star has to go for their mandatory service.

On August 1, Kihyun officially announced his enlistment in the military service with an emotional handwritten letter. In his letter, he expressed that he was going through a crucial time by the thought of how he would convey the news to the fans. But as the service is mandatory and the fans are his support system, he gathered the courage to share the news with his Monbebe. He requests the fans not to leave his side and support him for the rest of the time. He suggests the fans to take care of themselves as they are very important to him. And he finished the letter by writing that he will be back soon to his fans and he loves them. That time the fans got really emotional but the day had just arrived for his departure.

On August 22, Kihyun shared a photo of his new hair cut and left a message to his fans that "I will be back".

Kihyun will be the fourth member of MONSTA X to enlist in the military service. Before him Shownu went and he was discharged this spring. On the other hand Minhyuk and Joohoney are currently serving in the military.Kihyun is the lead vocalist of South Korean Monsta X who has been debuted on 2015. Previously he joined as a songwriter and composer. But then for his amazing voice Kihyun became the best vocalist.
