It’s been 24 hours since the news of ASTRO star Moonbin’s death surfaced in the media. The soft-spoken and always smiling person Moonbin was the ace of popular boy band ASTRO for which, this news hit badly among all the K-pop fans. Moonbin’s family, friends and close acquaintances are in mourning of his untimely death along with ASTRO’s fan base Arohas. Seeing Moonbin’s death, Korean celebrities broke down emotionally. Many agencies and K-pop Idol groups have postponed their scheduled programs to commemorate his passing. 

Moon was a child-actor turned idol who appeared in many popular dramas as well such as Boys over Flowers. The singer was going through some rough patches of his life which he was trying to get over with. He took a hiatus from ASTRO last year but was regularly doing events with the ASTRO sub-group Moonbin & Sanha. After their last concert which was held on 8 April, Moonbin confessed that he was going through a rough time. He tried not to show it, but couldn’t. He was trying to get better and to do so he was exercising and doing things that would make him better. He said he had to recover and make ASTRO’s fandom  Aroha happy. 

Moonbin’s closest friend, fellow singer Cha Eun Woo, is not doing well hearing this news. Still in disbelief, Che Eun Woo is now rushing from the USA to South Korea in an almost 14 hours long flight canceling his scheduled activities. He could not share his sorrow in words yet. Apparently, his fate became very similar to his True Beauty character Su Ho who lost his idol best friend just like real life. ASTRO member MJ is also taking a leave from his military service to stay with Moonbin’s family and other ASTRO members to give some moral support.

Other close friends and fellow celebrities are also showing their condolences for Moonbin. Host and actress Denise Laurel has posted in her Instagram about how surprised and shocked she is by this news. She shared-

“I’m at a loss for words.. i can’t accept it’s real.. but will fill myself with prayers for you and all the people that love you.. i will try my best to continue to pass on the joy you have shared with me.. may your soul rest in peace n insurmountable joy you deserve.. you don’t have to wanna be our star you are always were our star..”

Podcast Creators DIVE Studios also postponed their contents for 1 week to pay condolences to Moonbin as he often attended their podcasts in the past. 

Moonbin’s little sister Moon Sua and her girl group BILLIE have postponed their group events so that Sua can be at ease while mourning for her brother’s death. She had an amazing relationship with her big brother from whom she got the courage to enter into the same industry.

The late star was mentioned by TV personality Jang Sung Kyu MBC Radio show ‘Good Morning FM with Jang Sung-kyu’. He shared, 

“He looked so bright when I saw him recently. This doesn’t feel real. May he rest in peace.”

The Kpop world is equally shattered by this heartbreaking news right now. BTS leader RM has shared a black photo as his Instagram story to show grief over Moonbin’s demise. Other BTS members are also showing their grievance for the late star.

Singer and actor Kim Ho Young, comedian Kwon Hyuk Soo and many other celebrities are sharing their heartfelt thoughts for the late Moonbin. Kwon posted another black image saying “RIP” while Kim Ho Young shared in his Instagram story saying, “Heart is heavy. I am sorry that I could not keep my promise of buying you a meal”. 

KBS’s ‘Music Bank’ has already canceled their coming event this Friday and girl group Le Sserafim canceled their public event regarding the JTBC’s talk show “Men on a Mission”.  Popular singer and their friend IU has also postponed her interview article release date about IU-Park Seo Jun’s next film Dream to show respect to Moonbin.

All the Korean Celebrities are paying respect to the deceased and trying to cope up with this sudden news. Hope Moonbin’s family and close ones can keep patience in this tough time.
