The Boys Over Flowers craze has never faded over these 14 years which has had many cross-border remakes till now. Just two years ago, its Thai remake F4 Thailand: Boys over Flowers was released and its international success again proved that the audience is still in love with its original version. But one thing, I guess every fan has wanted over these years, which is, Boys Over Flowers Season 2! And today, we have got a big news for those unsatisfied souls! The 2nd season of Boys Over Flowers is getting released in 2024 with its original cast and a surprise female lead!

The blockbuster hit Boys Over Flowers revolves around the life of Geum Jan-di who is a hardworking and strong-willed girl from a poor but modest background. Jan-di, played by Koo Hye Sun, unexpectedly earns a scholarship to the prestigious Shinhwa High School but gets herself in trouble with most of its rich and elite classmates, specifically the most troublemaker boys’ group F4. F4 consists of four wealthy and influential boys led by Goo Jun-pyo, played by the drama’s lead actor Lee Min Ho. F4, which is already known for their bullying and domination of the school got their new target Jan-di after she stood up to their bullies. 

As the story unfolds, Jan-di's resilience and compassion begin to break through Jun-pyo's rude character and soon our tough guy falls in love with Geum Jan Di. But their story becomes a love triangle when another member of the F4, Yoon Ji Hu, played by Kim Hyun Joong, secretly develops feelings for Jan-di. Soon their internal friendship becomes complicated and adding to the problems, the rich boys’ family secrets also get revealed. On the other hand, Jun Pyo’s family also opposes his relationship with a poor girl. Their relationship gets more complicated when Jun Pyo learns about Ji Hu’s love for Jan Di. But in an unfortunate accident, Jun Pyo loses his memories while trying to save Ji-hu's life. But they again reunite when Jun Pyo recalls his memories back. They pursue their dreams in the end and reunite with each other along with all the F4 members in the end.

When Boys Over Flowers was about a bunch of school-goers and their love lives, Boys Over Flowers 2 will feature the college romance of two most popular actors of today, Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun who will be recurring in the roles of Geun Jan Di and Gu Jun Pyo! After the successful drama The King: Eternal Monarch, fans were eagerly waiting for another drama with this amazingly perfect couple Kim Go Eun and Lee Min Ho. Now the long-awaited pair will enter the K-drama world once again with an even more exciting plot for the latest season of Boys Over Flowers. 

The plot of Boys Over Flowers 2 will be based on the modern-day chemistry of Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun. But this season will not continue from the last season’s plot! The director and producers have selected a very interesting and freshly written plot for the screenplay of the second season. The drama will once again revolve around a famous dominating boys group F4 and the main lead Geum Jan Di will get intertwined with its 4 stubborn members! This time, Geum Jan Di will be played by Kim Go Eun who can easily pull off characters from every age. Lee Min Ho is also very youthful even in his 30s which makes him a perfect lead for this drama. And I’m sure you cannot imagine F4 without Lee Min Ho.

Since Koo Hye Sun’s divorce from her ex-husband Ahn Jae Hyun, Koo Hye Sun has been on a long hiatus from dramas and movies and probably has retired from acting projects. But the actress is rumored to appear in this highly anticipated second season which was the ultimate breakthrough of her career! It was Boys Over Flowers which built on every rookie actor’s career and made them Hallyu stars in upcoming years. So, Koo Hye Sun is rumored to give a very special cameo in Boys Over Flowers 2 which will make all the fans nostalgic.

In the 2nd season, many actors from the first season will be recurring their roles, but in a new storyline. Another F4 member is rumored to be within this new F4 group with Lee Min Ho and two new actors will join this group to complete the legendary group. There is a rumor that two heartthrob actors Hwang In Youp and another surprising actor will join this cast. As female actresses, more young actresses will be added like Pak Gyu Young, Moon Ga Young, and most probably Roh Yoon Seo from Crash Course in Romance will join the list. 

Boys Over Flowers 2 will entertain us with another story full of romance, friendship, family politics, and overall, life. The writer of this drama has already finished its script and the production team is finalizing the cast list. It's heard that all the cast have received the primary script and are ready to sit for a script reading session within November 2023! Meanwhile, Lee Min Ho is going to launch his upcoming drama Ask The Stars alongside Gong Hyo Jin. They have already finished filming its scenes. Although it was originally set to get released within 5th May 2023, their premier had to be postponed due to some issues. The drama may be released by the end of 2023 or early 2024. In the meantime, Lee Min Ho and his queen Kim Go Eun are all set to star in their second drama together which fans have been eagerly waiting for!

As per reports, this drama will be filmed in February 2024 and may be released by July 2024! Before that, the Lee Min Ho team has been secretive about this drama release and any information regarding this drama has not been official just yet. On the other hand, the drama is also rumored to mark the comeback of Koo Hye Sun on the screen after a long hiatus. She may not have any role in the drama but will give a cameo appearance which fans will love for sure.

Now that Boys Over Flowers 2 is all set to appear once again on screen, this is going to be another internationally popular drama that may break the viewership record of its previous season! It will once again cross boundaries and attract audiences from all over Asia and beyond. And all the cameo appearances of its previous season will add extra spice to it! Kang ha Neul, Park Hyung Sik, Kim Jiwon, and many other stars will give their cameos to make us nostalgic. The star-studded drama will entertain us once again with its second season after 14 years!
